Into the Holiday Season

20171125_213351Boy the year has really flown by! I tried unsuccessfully to make some 20170829_195324updates earlier this year, but it has been busy. Health has been a big issue for both of my parents over the last couple years. I am glad to say that both of my folks are feeling and doing much better. I had successful physical therapy in the Spring for a pinched nerve in my shoulder. Unfortunately, I lost all of April to illness and a severe allergy to medication.

20180121_190100In January, my youngest brother, David, and his wife, Tasha welcomed 20180715_18562820180626_115329their first child, Jeannette. We were excited to hear recently that they are expecting another little one in the Spring of 2019! In the Summer, my middle brother, Jake’s twins came to visit. We had fun doing art projects, fishing, going to the Willowbrook Nature Center and the Brookfield Zoo. Later in the Summer we had a Family Reunion Picnic and got to introduce Mykaela and Kaden to the cousins.

Christmas OrnamentI have added a new Michael’s Location in Schaumburg, where I am offering classes every other Friday, from 4:30-6:30pm. We are rotating subjects and media with the next class coming up on November 16th, featuring an acrylic painting of a Christmas ornament. Expressions Graphics Classes in Sumi Watercolor Painting and Calligraphy continue through December. I will be offering some new options come Spring 2019.

I am participating in a pilot program with Chartpak and Micheal’s, offering colored pencil classes at the Willowbrook, Illinois Michael’s location in November and December. In 2019, I will add additional class options and locations.

Ongoing exhibits include: at Dancing Krow Gallery, the Collective Darkness Exhibit, October 20th through November 17th, 2018. At Life Force Arts Center, the Love & Wisdom: The Skills of Maturity exhibit, running July 20th, 2018 through January.

20180204_14202220180120_091817I finally finished this big commission, a blanket chest, for a private collection in Bourbonnais, Illinois. It took a bit longer than expected but came out beautiful.

I am currently not planning any shows or craft fairs for the next six months. I will be tackling updates to inventory on my new website instead. Look for news and new works after Christmas. If you are looking for original works, please contact me directly. I have a large inventory of florals, landscapes and seascapes, animals and still lifes. There are also a couple openings for commissions. (Jessica Kronika, 847-722-7032, artist@flyngypsyarts.com)

May your holiday season be filled with the joy of time with loved ones. I look forward to connecting with you in classes, making art, as well as via social media, email or phone.
